But the engravement was misspelled
Chris should of gotten it fixed

between pain

A constant rivalry.

It looks like pain is winning today,
Thrashing its armor,

ReverieImagination slithered from under the bed,

Behind towers of my favorite fairy tales.

An investigator chronicled my wishes,
In pools of smiling fishes.
Swimming over that waterfall, I did not dread,
For I landed back in bed.

Running from FreedomThese chains to which that hold me

I cling so desperatly.

People always tell me "Freedom is never free."

The sweat that glistens down my spine,

the rhythmatic thumping in my chest

tell me to run and never look back,

yet I stay with my feet planted firmly

on the ground. Immobile stones that will never waver.

If I follow you into the uncertainty of life

we've never known, will I grow wiser?

Show me the way for my mind is turning around,

even when my feet want to go on.

A Perfect SlumberThe snow had drifted down and blanketed the country side. The wind left ripples over the landscape & small dunes formed along the fence line. A frozen desert, calm and quiet, a perfect slumbering world devoid of anarchy and distractions.
The fire hissed as a branch not long enough cured steamed it's protest. An amber glow filled the den. The icicles in the window caught the light and seemed to sparkle as bright as diamonds.
The cat napped on the couch as the old hound wheezed in his sleep. He must of been dreaming of rabbits. His legs jerked now and then & he whined on the hearth rug.
The world outside was sobering, beautiful & pristin

This Soul.....This soul wishes for the rain.
The rain can wash away the blood, but it cannot wash away the tears;
the tears from a soul that has nearly given up.
Once a week, this soul hears a repeated emphasis on it's failures,
on it's faults, and on all of it's mistakes.
But all this soul ever did was try to be perfect as it could be,
but nothing was ever good enough, not even for the slightest positive recognition.

This soul has bled to the point where only water falls from it's wounds;
wounds that were created from merciless beatings,
both physically and mentally, from this soul's unforgiving surroundings.
